The marketing funnel has been around since before the 1917 pandemic, before the internet, mobile phones, and social media. Believing that, in light of all that's happened, it's time to treat the customer journey less linearly and give customers more credit as brand promoters, HubSpot introduced the flywheel model in 2018. Marketers quickly adopted this new model, prioritizing the buyer's experience and measurable ROI above everything else.
